Teacher certification aims to attract, retain teachers

An initiative to enhance teacher quality in West Texas and Eastern New Mexico will give teachers a chance to achieve certification from the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards.

ECISD teachers get opportunity to become nationally board certified

City Awarded “STOP School Violence” Grant

The City of Carlsbad has received a grant for more than $340,000 to go toward preventing school violence. 2020 Census: PSP remains committed to the count

COVID-19 and changing deadlines caused the Permian Strategic Partnership (PSP) to redraw plans in its drive to make sure those living in oil and gas producing counties in Southeast New Mexico and West Texas are counted in the 2020 Census.

$41K grant to help fund CISM training for Carlsbad Fire Department

The Carlsbad Fire Department received a $41,135 grant through the Federal Emergency Management Agency, an application inspired by the efforts of a local grassroots organization. The funds will allow personnel at the department to undertake Critical Incident Stress Management training to address behavioral, mental, emotional trauma from repeated exposure to tragic and stressful situations.

Permian Counts makes final push

The U.S. Census Bureau recently announced it would be adjusting the response deadline for the 2020 Census to September 30, 2020. In response to this change in deadline, the Permian Strategic Partnership is making a final push to maximize participation across the Permian Basin through its educational campaign, The Permian Counts.
