Ector County ISD on Tuesday became the first school district in the nation to partner with SpaceX to provide broadband service to families with poor or no internet access.

ECISD has announced it would be partnering with SpaceX to help provide internet access to more students.

Students who live outside the city limits in Ector County have struggled with attending school virtually, but ECISD is changing that with the help of outer space exploration company SpaceX.

The City of Carlsbad has received a grant for more than $340,000 to go toward preventing school violence. The City received grant assistance from Terry Brunner and Pivotal New Mexico, a company contracted by the PSP to help local governments, school districts and non-profits compete for state, federal and private grant opportunities.
