The Permian Strategic Partnership (PSP) mourns the passing of J. Bruce Bugg Jr., Chairman of the Texas Transportation Commission. Chairman Bugg was a dedicated public servant whose vision, leadership, heart, and commitment to improving infrastructure strengthened communities across Texas, especially in the Permian Basin.
Under his stewardship, TxDOT made historic investments in rural and energy-producing regions, recognizing the critical role transportation plays in supporting both economic growth and quality of life. Chairman Bugg understood the importance of connecting people and industry safely and efficiently, and his legacy will live on in the corridors that fuel Texas’ prosperity.
We extend our deepest condolences to his family, friends, and colleagues at TxDOT, who we know will miss him dearly. His contributions to Texas will not be forgotten.
