Group applauds N.M. investment in Permian roads

The PSP applauded the New Mexico Department of Transportation, the New Mexico Legislature and the governor for their commitment to improving road conditions and road safety in the Permian Basin through their work in this year’s legislative session to fund key transportation projects in the region.

Major road projects on tap in Basin

Hundreds of millions of dollars in road projects are on tap for Ector and Midland counties in the coming years, some of which have been languishing for years. Future projects are funded, but they haven’t started because the money is allocated way before they break ground.

PSP, Road Safety Coalition team up to provide life-saving equipment

Just as the PSP aims to address the region’s education, health care and housing needs, it plans to help make Permian Basin roads safer. The partnership is partnering with the Permian Road Safety Coalition to provide almost $1.1 million in life-saving equipment to first responders in 22 counties across West Texas and New Mexico.

City Awarded “STOP School Violence” Grant

The City of Carlsbad has received a grant for more than $340,000 to go toward preventing school violence. The City received grant assistance from Terry Brunner and Pivotal New Mexico, a company contracted by the PSP to help local governments, school districts and non-profits compete for state, federal and private grant opportunities.
