The Permian Strategic Partnership (PSP) was proud to join Ector County Independent School District (ECISD) as they broke ground today for the new state-of-the-art Career & Technical Education (CTE) center in Odessa, Texas. The CTE center is scheduled to open its doors in 2027, serving students and adult learners by providing high-quality education in a wide variety of marketable skills and preparing students for the workforce or post-secondary education.
“Programs like the Career & Technical Education Center broaden educational opportunities for students,” said Tracee Bentley, President and CEO of PSP. “Fostering innovative learning environments is integral to uplifting our communities and shaping the world. Our investment in ECISD and their program will equip students with the tools and understanding to allow them to prosper on their journeys to success and expand up-skilling opportunities in our community.”
The ECISD CTE Center will offer students comprehensive career training and opportunities for real-world experience through partnering with businesses and providing dual-credit courses through Odessa College. Expanding on the existing course offerings by ECISD, the Center will enable students to apply the skills they learn to solve real-world challenges, earn industry-recognized certificates, and facilitate readiness for entering the workforce.
In addition to serving ECISD students, the Center will support continuing education efforts through partnerships with Odessa College and local employers, providing select re-skilling and up-skilling opportunities for adult learners. These programs will offer targeted courses and certifications designed to meet workforce needs, combining personalized instruction with hands-on training using advanced technology.
“This program will have an enduring influence on the students’ growth and development by providing them real-world experience and training,” said ECISD Superintendent Dr. Keeley Boyer. “We are thrilled to have our community’s support in creating an easily accessible venue for technical learning, post-secondary education preparation, and career development for students. Thanks to the PSP’s generosity, this will provide relevant workforce pathways benefiting generations to come.”
PSP is dedicated to serving and cultivating the Permian Basin area through innovative solutions and targeted support for education and development. PSP has invested $10 million in ECISD for the CTE project, reinforcing their determination to bolster communities within the region and empower individuals in seeking out a promising future.
